Hi,
I was playing with Networker 7.4. SP1 and VCB 1.1 integration, and came across a problem with file level backups. Full vm backups work just fine.
I just wanted to let you know that this is a known problem at EMC and since EMC is not that fast with patches i will post the problem/workarround:
Symptoms
Savegroup reports completed.
Savegroup reports succeeded.
Update to NetWorker for Windows 7.4.1.
Updated instructions followed from the "NetWorker 7.4 Multiplatform Version Service Pack 1 Release Notes".
Backups with a the saveset of FULL work fine.
Backup with a saveset of either "ALLVMFS" or fie/directory specification like "C\windows" fail.
No error message.
Cause
Software defect.
Resolution
Known issue. NetWorker is looking for a string "VCB" in the mount point. The string is "hardcoded". This dependency on the string 'vcb' will be removed.
In the meantime the workaround is to use a mount point that has the string 'vcb' in the path. For example, specify the mount point C:
vcb
mnt instead of C:
mnt in the 'config.js' file.
