VCB and Backup Exec

Is anyone out there using VCB with the Backup Exec module on a Backup Exec 12.5 server? I managed to get a file backup of a test vm yesterday, but it's been downhill ever since. I haven't been able to get an image backup at all. If anyone is using it, did you have to deviate from the documentation at all?

My setup is VI3 on ESX 3.5, all latest updates. VCenter is installed on an XP vm, and the VCB proxy is a physical Win 2003 server. Any help is appreciated.

After more testing, here's my main question for now. To get a full image backup, am I supposed to:

- run browse-start.bat jobname 10.1.7.18-FullVM

- in Backup Exec job selection list, select C:\mnt\10.1.7.18-FullVM

- put pre job command "C:
Program Files\VMware\VMware Consolidated Backup\backupexec\pre-backup.bat" jobname 10.1.7.18-FullVM

Because when I run the job, it ends quickly with an error (3): The system cannot find the path specified.

The config.js file points to a mount point that will act as a "holding tank" for the FullVM backups. If that directory does not exist, it will fail. Also, the default is on C:, so be careful that you do not fill it up!

I published a Proven Practice Guide on VI:OPS, but the site was gobbled up by the main communities and doesn't seem to work properly any more. I re-posted it here for now -> http://www.dailyhypervisor.com/2010/01/15/setting-up-vcb-for-any-backup-software-revisited/

Thanks for both of the responses and the docs. I'll check them out.
