You will still have to specify the username in the config.js or in the vcbmounter script, but the location provided earlier is the exact location. The password at the end of the registry location should be a string value added to the "VMware Consolidated Backup" key.

The VM Backup guide was just updated. Check out page 83:

"Updates for the Configuring USERNAME and PASSWORD

Section on Page 41

The Configuring USERNAME and PASSWORD section provides incomplete

information for the password location. The following text should appear in this section.

If you do not specify the password, Consolidated Backup checks if the password is set

in the registry at the following locations:

On Windows x86 - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\VMware, Inc.\VMwareConsolidated Backup\Password

On Windows x64 - HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Wow6432Node\VMware,Inc.\VMware Consolidated Backup\Password
