VC2.5 features with ESX3.0.1 / 0.2

Hi all,

First post on the community. Just have a question; I am upgrading to VC2.5. What additional features do I get to use in VC2.5 over VC2.0.2? I am running ESX3.0.1 / 0.2. Apart from the likes of Site Recovery Manager, what other additional features would I have? What about Cisco Discovery Protocol, Update Manager? Will these work if I don't upgrade to ESX3.5? Any other features?

Update manager will work fine, you will also get converter

For CDP you will have to upgrade ESX's to 3.5.

Are you sure Update Manager will work without ESX3.5??

Sorry digging a bit deaper I don't think it will work on 3.0.1, which I am surprised at, I thought it would prompt you to update but:

Update Manager can scan and remediate a variety of ESX Hosts, virtual machines, and applications including the following:

ESX Server Scanning and Remediation

• ESX Server 3.5 and later

• ESX Server 3i and later
