VC version for ESX 3.0.1

We're using the ESX 3.0.1 platform and have recently purchased licensing for Virtual Center. Before proceeding, I'm wondering if someone can tell me what version of Virtual Center I should be installing. I've looked through some of the documentation, but I haven't been able to find the info I'm looking for.

Will VC 2.5 work with ESX 3.0.1?

Hi,

You can try with VC 2.5 and ESX 3.0.1, but it's recommended to go at least to ESX 3.0.2 to use it, because of patches.

I hope this helps.

Regards

Celia.-

I agree with CMCC, we actually saw bunch of issues when even just going to straight 3.0.2, make sure you apply all necssary patches (3.0.2 update1 + all 3.0.2 patches). Per the SE's at VMware, you can see some odd issues with your Virtual Center and your Hosts, if they're not at an expected patch level by your VC. Make sure you do development/testing before moving to production, upgrades/patches are a 1 way thing and you can not revert other than rebuilding.
