VC connectivity issues over VPN

Does anyone encounter similar scenario:

2 ESX server farms which located in 2 different physical sites and every one of them configured in HA.

There is a site to site VPN tunnel (All ports are open)

VC installed on one of the sites and frequently loses connectivity with the remote ESX server farm. And only after restarting the VC services it is able to communicate until next time it happens!

Any Ideas?

Try and see if there are any logs that will tell you the date/time of the lost connection. If the cutout is occurring every X hours/X minutes then there might be an issue with the way your VPN tunnel is setup.

It is more than likely there might be a problem with network latency developing at certain times of the day and as a result the VC server service might be loosing connectivity.

Incidently, where is the SQL database hosted? is it on the same server? or a remote server across the VPN? again because the VC service will be using an ODBC connection which is stateful if there is slight break in the network link it will disconnect.
