no, ESX(i)4 can only be managed by vCenter4.

As Troy as written you need VC 4.0.

But also you need the vCenter Agent license that is NOT include in the free version of ESXi 4.0.

Nope, unfortunately not, but you CAN manage ESX 3.5 hosts with VC 4.

If you had the old licesnes they would have been upgraded and you should be entitled to upgrade, so you could upgrade your VC, then your hosts when you're ready.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .
