VC 2.5 rescan error

Since I have installed V.C 2.5 from scratch, and when I try to rescan ALL HBA... I get an error which reads" an error occurred while communicating with the remote host" I never had this problem on an old VC...

ESX 3.0.1 and ESX 3.0.2 HOSTs.

Any ideas?

Have you updated/installed your new vi client?

I installed it the new client... I didnt update it from 2.0.... did the fresh install for VC 2.5

I had a mixed environment for a time with vc2.5 and esx 3.0.2 hosts and didn't have this issue. When you issue this rescan, does the esx host disappear from vc? Are there errors in your vmkernel logfile? Did the agent install on esx host proceed without problems? Since this is new VC, have you made sure name resolution works without issue?

it does not disappear from the list, but it says disconnected... i did have an agent issue, and I had to restart the service mgmt before it let me add into the VC 2.5

Then I would venture to see that the agent update did not successfully implement. I would remove the server from vc, and re-add to reattempt the agent install.
