VC 2.5 in a VM : Windows XP virtual machine deploy incorrectly.

Dear Experts,

I'm using ESX 3.5/VC 2.5 and VirtualCenter 2.5 is running in VM.

I have been install Windows XP(SP2), patches, user applications and VMware Tool correctly. Then convert the XP VM to template.

Also create customization specification and copy XP sysprep tool to C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\VMware\VMware VirtualCenter\sysprep\xp directory.

Finally, I try to deploy from template, deploy was completed normally. But, the VM powered on and Windows XP startup, the VM does not customized.

Computer name and user information was not changed and network configuration(TCP/IP) also not changed. It seems like just cloned.

Is there have problem about VC 2.5 in a VM and deploy template function?

Hi!

As i know deploy process has two steps

first clone vm from your template

second apply customization.

if you are open VM console then first step finished and second dont started you'll see VM state before converting to template.
