Hi Folks, can some check that I'm right? VC 2.01 seems to have have problems with german umlauts (ä,ö,ü, ..) in Windows-Passwords. If the password contains such a character, VC always told the user "Login failed, due a bad username or password" but the password ist correct.
Am I the only one with these problems or didn't I find the corresponding threads or manual entries?
Regards, Daniel
I've heard of such problems in the past - there were some norweigen guys who had problems with their characters. Mercilfully, British/UK English doesn't have any special characters in this respect. I've heard stories of various versions of VC that won't function without the US code page/keyboard character set being installed. Although I must admit this has been awhile...
I guess these sorts issues arise with US software, tested on mainly US configurations. Someone should tell Mr Bush about us youropeans...
Here's some of the original posts I was thinking off:

Unfortunately, the workaround is to exclude the use of these characters...
