Users can't add tags in VCenter

Hi Guys,

I'm sure this is something stupid I'm missing but I'm going round in circles. Users are wanting to use the Tagging feature to manage their VMs however unfortunately the option appears Greyed out for them...

Obvious thing here is permissions, if I look at the users role and what I believe is the correct permissions they seem to have what I'd expect. As a Full Admin I can add Tags and Categories and other Admins can see these tags. Not sure what that proves other than the fact they are saving to the DB but the users can't actually create.

As far as I can see, Tagging is a feature of the web client only? If there is a way to do it in the thick client I'd appreciate if someone can tell me where it's hiding. I don't trust the web client so I'd love to see if this is the same in the Thick client also.

Tagging is a new functionality in the vSphere Web Client, so you cannot use the vSphere Client (C# version)... and about the users that cannot create tags, have you assigned them the correct privileges ? See: vCenter Inventory Service Tagging

I thought as much with regards to VSphere Client.

Apologies the permissions etc were all in a screen shot that seems to have disappeared, as far as I am aware the permissions are correct

VCenter Server is: 6.0.0 3339083

Permissions are set at a DataCenter Level and then propagated to child levels below. Permissions were set-up using the VSphere client - is there potential that there are child objects that have not taken this because they are not available?
