Upgrading virtual center 2.5 to vcenter 4.1

for upgradation purpose of vcenter 2.5 i converted my physical pc to virtual pc and before upgrading it on physical pc i thougt to update it first on virtual pc

so i disconnected the virtual pc from network and tried to update the vc2.5, after inserting the cd when i click vcenter server tab the upgradation process starts but it gives error i attached the snapshot of the error,

any advise guys

You must connect the server, whre the vcenter is running to the netwotk.

Then start the upgrade once again.

actual my idea was to upgrade vcenter 2.5 on virtual pc first before doing it on production vcenter 2.5

because last time when i upgrade vc2.5 to update 4 that time i did the same i tested upgrade on virtual pc when it upgrade successfully then i upgrade prodution vc and it worked fine.

main intention to like this is it some thing goes wrong while upgradation i will not lose my physical production server

Don' worry about hr upgrade.

Just make a bakcup of the databases:

-vcenter

-master

-msdb

and make the upgrade.

I did it a lot of time with customers and hadn't got any big problems.
