Upgrading vCenter 5.0 Windows/MSSQL to vCenter Server 5.5

Hello,

We are currently running vCenter 5.0. under Windows/MSSQL (with ESXi 5.0 hypervisors).
We would like to upgrade to vCenter 5.5.

Is there any proper way of doing this upgrade ?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

All the topics you mentioned are present in the upgrade guide.

But for general guidelines:

1) Backup your DB.

2) install SSO->NGC->IS->VC in that order.

3) Upgrade your ESX hosts to 5.5

Just to add to Girish, you may install Update manager 5.5 or upgrade your Update manager 5.0 to 5.5 after upgrading your components in the order SSO->NGC->IS->VC and then utilize Update manger to upgrade the ESXi hosts.
