I am currently using Virtual centre 4.1 which is build 258902. I want to upgrade to vcentre 4.1 update 1 which is build 345042. Is this a simple upgrade to do. Does this upgrade the database in any way. So do we need to backup the database before we upgrade. ANd would the upgrade disconnect the esx hosts, so is best to do this after hours. Also what are the advantages of this upgrade.
Also i have update manager running on a separate machine does that need to be upgraded as well or will that still work. I installed the version from the virtual centre 4.1 DVD.
Can we use update manager to upgarde the virtual centre or can it only do esx and virtual machines.
Also currently on my virtual centre 4.1 build 258902 i have running esxi servers which has version 4.1.0 build 348481,which is v4.1 update 1, so does that mean you can connect higher versions of esxi server to a lower version of virtual centre as thats the setup I have at the moment.
