Upgrading to patch 5 for 2.5

I'm not sure what update I'm currently at for 2.5 but the build number is 147633. I would like to upgrade to update 5. I can upgrade Virtual Center to update 5 without upgrading my ESX 3.5 servers to update 5 correct? I plan on upgrading the ESX servers in a few weeks.

Also, I haven't updated Virtual Center in quite awhile. Is there any documentation on upgrading to patch 5?

Thanks

Hello.

Build 147633 should be Update 4. You can update vCenter without upgrading the ESX hosts - that is correct. Check out the Upgrade Guide for all the detail on the process.

Good Luck!

You are at U4. The upgrade is pretty straight forward, just have a good backup of your DB. However, I don't believe there is a schema upgrade from U4 to U5.

The process of upgrading should be to always do vCenter first, so you are following the correct path

Here is the upgrade guide, which may be useful
