Upgrading VCenter Server Hardware

We are at the point now that we need to upgrade our old VCentre server hardware. OUr currnet envoronment has been migrated to VSphere 4, and the old VCentre hardware is now out of Warantee.

The configuration is WIndows 2003 and MS SQL2005 both installed on the single server, allready running VCenter4..

New hardware had been purchased and is now ready for installation.

I am currently planning to Simply reinstall SQL2005 onto a new server with a new name and IP, and create a new Database with the same name as the original., then reinstall VCentre Server. Once started, restore the old VCentre database into the new SQL server, and restore the patch repositories, open the firewalls to the new IP, shut down the odl VC and start the new.

My only question is what is the impact on the Virtual hosts with the changed IP and name of the Virtual Centre Server? Will the new server simply communicate with the hostsand they will pick up the new address and name for management and licencing or do I need to keep the same hostname and IP for the upgraded VC Server?
