Upgrading VC server to patch 6 and ESX agent

When VC server is upgraded from patch 4 to patch 6, how is the new agent pushed down to the ESX server? Is this done automatically or is this something that I would have to perform? So will the ESX host need rebooted?

the agent is pushed down from vCenter to all ESX host servers that are registered in your vCenter inventory. Your hosts may be disconnected during the agent upgrade, but no VM's will be affected.

I moved the thread to the vCenter Community, during that move is probably when you couldn't reply.
