Upgrade to vCentre 5 from x86 vCentre 4

I'm looking to upgrade our infrastructure to v5 in both ESX and vCentre. vCentre is currently at v4.0. However, this is installed on an x86 version of Windows Server.

Server is x64 capable, Can anyone point me in the right directinon as to the best method for upgrading, i know a reinstall of Windows is recessary, but unsure as to best way of backing up resoring the database etc to the new build.

vCentre database is currently SQL 2005.

Thanks in advance.

The best place to start is probably looking at the data migration tool - this is included on the vcenter iso. This KB article describes what it does and how to use it: http://kb.vmware.com/selfservice/microsites/search.do?language=en_US&cmd=displayKC&externalId=200532...
