Update Manager: upgrading ESX3.5 -> ESXi 4.1 attached fiber still issue?

Hello,

We're in the process of upgrading the ESX 3.5 environment to ESXi 4.1U1.

Is the upgrade path from ESX classic to ESXi with VUM supported?

If so; is while installing / upgrading the hosts with VUM attached fiber channel still an issue? The installation docs of 4.1 still mention the detachment of fiber when installing manually.

To way to upgrade a ESX to ESXi.

The only way is a reinstallation.
