I have about 30 new HP BL460C G7 servers installed in a C7000 chassis with Flex-10 installed, with ESXi 4.1 (the HP brand) installed on them.
Problem is that the driver that comes with this version is old and HP recommends to upgrade to this one http://downloads.vmware.com/d/details/dt_esxi4x_emulex_21042773/ZHcqYnR3JUBiZGhwZA.
So I took the offline bundle and imported the zip file into our VUM repository, but when I attach the patch baseline to the servers and scan, VUM shows the patch as "compliant", even though the drivers installed on the esx is the earlier one (checked via ethtool -i vmnic0).
Is there a way to force VUM to installed a patch, or any other way around this othere than manullyu install the driver on each one of servers?
Thanks a lot!
You may have already figured this out, but for HP Offline Bundles please use the Host Extension format when attempting the Baseline.
We also had this issue and it was due to trying to run it as a Host Patch.
Hope this helps,
