Update Manager import patch fail - "invalid package"

Hi there, were using VUM 5.0 and tring to import some VMware patches for NIC drivers from the VM website "https://my.vmware.com/group/vmware/details?dlg=dt_esxi40_qlogic_nx_nic_40602&baseCode=ZHcqYnRwZXBiZC..."

so I downloaded the patch and tried to import however no matter what I do from vUM I get an error "invalid package". No matter what patch I try it still gives the same error.

Can anyone provide suggestion on the cause

Are you trying to import the iso file?

You will need to open the iso file and extract the offline-bundle folder.

In that folder you will see a .zip file, import that and it should work.

Hi vLarus,

Thanks for the reply. Actually thats what were already doing, we've extracted the zip file and then tried to upload the file "nx_nic-esx50-50....offline_bundle.zip" and tried to upload this but get the error mentioned.

Thanks

try downloading the package again. Move it to your vCenter.

Upload it from there. Ive had these problems with strange network ports closures and VUM before.

btw I tried importing that same package at my lab and it got imported so the package is good Smiley Happy
