Hi all,
I have setup UMDS and down loaded patches, export and import are working. Now, I need to down load new patches just came out for ESX 3.5:
VMware ESX 3.5 without patch ESX350-200901401-SG
VMware ESX 3.5 without patch ESX350-200901409-SG
VMware ESX 3.5 without patch ESX350-200901410-SG
I used the following commands:
C:\Vmware-umds -S -h true
C:\Vmware-umds -D
Apparently, it start down loading the entire VMware patches again. After it done, however, it did not down load the new patches which I need? I am not sure why? Any help will be appreciated.
Also, I have some questions and hope someone already when through and get them answers:
1. For UMDS down load, can we just target ESX 3.5 servers? Because "s" option is for all ESX 3.x servers?
2. For UMDS, can we export VMware patch base on the actual "patch name" and not by date/time range? Typically, we just patch one or two patch that critical to our ESX environment.
3. And when we importing one or two selected patches (that we tageted when exported from UMDS) there are a bunch of other patches show up in VUM VirutalCenter console? It a bit consufing as we have to do a search again within VUM to find the specific patch(es) that we try to imported.
