Update 4 upgrade installation sequence

Is it recommended or required to install VirtualCenter 2.5 update 4, before upgrading hosts to 3.5 update 4? We are currently running VC 2.5 U2 and 3.5 U3

Aloha - You should upgrade VCenter before the hosts.

it is recommended that your vCenter level is the same as your ESX level, the suggested route is to update vCenter first -> then your ESX hosts -> then VMtools in the guests.
