    Hi,

I'm unable to mount a cd-drive (or iso image) from my client machine using the vSphere client if I'm connected to a vCenter server. If I try I receive an error: "A connection to the host could not be estabilished"

However if i connect directly to one of the ESX hosts I can mount local cd drives and ISOs without any problem.

Could setting a different http/https port for the vCenter server cause this behavior? If so, is there anything i can do to resolve the problem? (changing the port back is not an option)

For impoting any kind device from host directly to OS you have to use SPTI. It`s available in some software, for example StarWind.

I think you misunderstood me. I want to use the built in feature of the vSphere Client. There is an option to connect the client device or an iso file on the client machine to the VM's cd-rom drive (also option to connect an iso from the data store or the host's cd devic, but those are working fine)..

Indeed, i have non default ports too. Unfortunately for me, it's impossible to change them.
