Unable to deploy OVF with Websphere Client or ovftool to vCenter 5.1

Hello,

we are experiencing some stange behaviour with our vSphere 5.1 installation. We are not able to deploy OVF with vSphere Webclient or with ovftool. It always gives an error  "No datastores found on target". I tried all datastores & datastore clusters we have (all FC based) but it is always the same error.

Ovftool returns

Deploying the ovf with vSphere Client works without problems. The problem exists since installation of that system. It was nstalled from scratch (no upgrade from previous version)

Does anyone have a clue, or is experiencing the same issues

I logged a call with VMware Support. It turned out that this is a issue with vCenter Server 5.1, and has been fixed with 5.1.0.B . We will give ist a try, and hope that the upgrade runs smooth

Upgrade did go through without problems. But the problem is still there. We also did an Upgrade of all our Hosts. VMware Support is still researching

There is an issue with ovftool not seeing datastores if they are in folders. That could cause this error, since the Web Client uses ovftool.
