Unable to create vSwitches in Vcenter since upgrade to ESX 4.1

I have completed an upgrade to my esx enviroment and all looks well apart from being unable to create virtual switches via vCenter but I can do it via the service console, any ideas?

vCenter 4.1

ESX 4.1

I get error message " A specified parameter was not correct"

Hi,

you could try to disconnect or remove a host from vCenter and reconnect again. Maybe it is an authentication problem with the "vpxuser" account which will be used for communication between ESX and vCenter.

Cheers

David

Have you checked that your VC is licensed? Perhaps your eval license has expired - or been reset somehow in the upgrade?

Alternatively, as stated before disconnect and reconnect the host . . .

Make sure that you verify all the DNS config / hosts files for your ESX environment too.

One day I will virtualise myself . . .

The problem was due to a rogue NIC being present in two virtual switches, which I thought couldnt be done, but heh removed and all working as normal.
