Hi
I’m having a problem getting other machines on my network connecting
to my 2003 Virtual host. I can map to a network drive from my Vista host which has
the 2003 server as a Guest to the 2003 server, however my laptop cannot. I can ping
from the virtual host out to my laptop, and my laptop can ping the 2003 virtual
server. I've configured DHCP on the VM 2003 and I can see the laptop getting a IP address. So why does DHCP work but mapping a network drive does not?
I’m running VMware server 2.0.1 on a Vista/32 bit Host, the Virtual
machine is a windows 2003 server 32 bit. I’ve installed VMtools. Anyone have
idea suggestion?

I wish I could help but I know nothing about VMware Server. You may get better responses by closing this thread and opening a new discussion in the VMware Server Forum
Have you tried disabling the Windows firewall on relevant machines?
Yes I've disabled the windows firewalls and rebooted all machines in question. I've even uninstalled all the anitvirus software.
Try using "bridged mode" for your VM NIC's in stead of NAT.
All interfaces are bridged.
Thanks for the suggestion. I'll post on VMWare Server as well.
