Unable to connect ESX2.5.3 from VC2.5

Hi,

I am unable to connect esx2.5.3 from Vc2.5.

Investigate and found vmware-vpxa was not running.so copied and run vpx-upgrade-esx-5-linux-227637 as suggested in blog.

Now vmware-vpxa is running.

But unable to find the vmware management service mgmt-vmware in the box.

The chgconfig --list command output also not showing any such service.

Getting following error

Unable to contact specific host(XXX)This might be because the host is not avaliable in network or network config problem or the mgmt service host is not responding.

I hv login as root.

One thing,There is no Network connectivity or firewall issue.

you tried restart a service - service mgmt-vmware restart ?

I believe no such service exist in esx2.5

Also i got same info from blog.

Till i am not able to connect the host thru client.

though vpxa service is running.

Yes vmware-mgmt restart service is from ESx 3.x, and wasnt in ESX 2.x.

Try to restart all services from the m/c hosting the VC and also restart the hostd of the ESX server.
