Unable to change permissions

I have this one particular vm and I am unable to make any permission changes in the user role. When I right-click on the role, the choices are grayed out. I have tried as my Active Directory Admin account as well as my local Admin account. I am able to change permissions on all vms except for this particular vm. Any suggestions? We are ESX3.0.1 and VC 2.0.1 patch 2.

Hello,

Check Roles higher up the folder ladder. Use the 'Templates and VM inventory' not the Host and CLuster inventory.

Best regards,

Edward

Check permissions on that VM and make sure you do not have an extra role or something that has competing permissions

Try removing the vm from inventory, then adding it back in to the inventory
