Unable to access file...since it is locked

VMware Vcenter Server, version 4.1.0

EsXi 4.1.0

and I can't make this machine to power off.

Since I'm not very familliar with VMware technology I have searched the web.

I have enabled SSH access to esxi01 server

Configuration->Security Profile-> Remote Tech Support (SSH)

but now when I'm trying to open ssh session using putty console using...yes, what account should I use? This one for vSphere Client - it doesn't work.

Root account with blank password - don't work neither.

So - how can configure ssh access when I have only vsphere client access?

Regards

Hello and welcome to the forums.

Who set the ESXi hosts up? Do you not have the root user password? Without the root user password or a user account created on the local ESXi server, then SSH access isn't going to happen. The only other option would be if ESXi was set up to authenticate against AD, but it sounds like you tried this already with the credentials used for the vSphere client.

Good Luck!
