Unable to Rename VMFS Volume

I had a volume named VMFS01 but I had to delete it for other issues. Now that I am readding it, the name is VMFS01 (1). Whenever I try to rename it it says that VMFS01 already exists.

How do I get the other ESX servers to forget about that name? I have rescanned the LUNS already.

IN VC You can goto Configuration | Storage | and if you see VMFS01. Select that one and goto properties and Click on Change

or you can try going to Service console and see if still exist in /vmfs/volumes/

if you see it there u can remove it

Hi,

U can login onto the ESX server with putty console using root id then u can rename the folders on the path /vmfs/volumes/storage.

$ mv file dir1/file2

It's easy if u can work with bash shell.

I don't have to worry about symbolic links or anything?
