Unable to Login to vCenter

I am currently unable to login to my vCenter 6.5 web client. I keep getting an error "User name and password are required" when trying to login. I only get the error when imputing a correct username and password. I have used multiple user accounts and computers with the same error. Anyone have any idea on how to fix this?

if u are installed vcenter for the first time try:

login: administrator@vsphere.local

password: ( the password that u configured in setup process)

Thanks for the reply. I've tried the administrator@vsphere.local account and get the same error.

I was going to https://vcenter-fqdn/ui/ when I got the error. I just tried going to https://vcenter-fqdn:5480/ and logging in but get "Unable to authenticate. Try again."

Sorry, my mistake, you wont be able to log un to :5840 with administrator@vsphere.local.

You might with root, but it's not vsphere client

Have you tried using other browser?

I have some additional information. When trying the IP of vcenter I get the following error:

[400] An error occurred while sending an authentication request to the vCenter Single Sign-On server - An error occurred when processing the metadata during vCenter Single Sign-On setup - com.vmware.vim.vmomi.client.exception.ConnectionException: java.net.SocketTimeoutException: Read timed out.

That's what I was thinking. I figured out that I needed to Regenerate a new VMCA Root Certificate and replace all certificates.

I have entered the same credentials for the ESXI and it worked with me.

In my case the username is root and password that you've assigned.

Meraj
