thanks for the quick answer . What is the alternate if i want to mange my ESXi which is installed on windows 8 for test lab .

You have two choices - you can create a VM with a supported windows operating system and install vCenetr there or use the vCenter Server Appliane installing it in on an ESXi host in your labe environment
