Trying to Vmotion 3.0.1 - Please check screen

We are using an IBM SVC connected to a DS8100, DS4100 and SHARK. When we try to connect the same vdisk (Datastore) to the same Hosts, when we Vmotion we get the screen posted below.

Is it really going to wipe out the datastore? If so, why?

What happens when you re-scan for devices and VMFS volumes on the SAN HBA (under Storage Adapters)?

Does the data store show up under Datastores ?

yes it will wipe all your data !

the situation that you describe is probably that you esx host recognize the lun but not the file system (data store) on that lun.

this is probably cause by different lun id in each host

try to change in LVM.DisallowSnapshotLUN to 0

it is done in the configuration --> advanced options --> LVM

then rescan again

check and compare the lun id in each host make sure your storage present the same lun id to your hosts

check out this thread

and this kb

hope this help

Interserve is correct - try that first. Also - what build ESX 3.0.1 are you using? We're running the same setup - What version SVC (4.1.x)?
