Strange logs in VC Server - Login Faileddue to bad username and password.

Hi, I am able to log into my domain computer. But, when the same user name is used to log into my VC Server, it gives me error message -Login Faileddue to bad username and password.

Any ideas, why I am seeing this message? I have copied the log files from the VC Server. My username is AAAAA. and Domain name is MY_DOMAIN.

I am seeing this message from yesterday. Earlier, it was working fine.

Im getting the same error here...... I upgraded virtual center to update 2 a few weeks back i my test lab then went on vacation.... When i came back my password was expired so i changed it and it kept locking i have narrowed it down to the virtual center service locking my ID but not sure where it is storing it yet still looking if anyone knows please share....

I am getting the same problem. VC service is the calling service. Any one found where the VC service is storing this user id and password?

Hello,

i've also encountered this problem.

I've tryed to delete the user from the VC permissions tab, and also his profile from the VC server.....

but still no good!

Is there anyone who solved this issue?

Thanks...

I hate replying back to an old old thread but this came up top via google.

My vCenter 4u1 was set to wait 24 hours before performing a sync with AD. I changed this to two hours and restarted the vCenter service. This seemed to allow people to login again after AD group membership changes.

vCenter Server Settings -> Active Directory -> Enable validation -> validation period.

Hope this helps someone else in the future.
