I have strange issue trying to upgrade my VirtualCenter from 2.5 to 4.0.
Installation wizzard finds ODBC connection:
DSN: ODBC-VC
ODBC driver: c:\windows\system32\sqlncli.dll
I have checked that ODBC is used with intergaed Windows Authentication ad domain admin so I use this user in installation wizzard
Also service "Vmware VirtualCenter Server" is running with this domain user's rights.
The same user is used on next screen of installation wizzard (configuration of VCenter Server Service). Account name is grayed and only password can be entered. Although password is applied I get error:
"You have entered "DOMAIN\Administrator" for VCenter Service Server account which is different from the DB user that teh DSN 'ODBC-VC' is setup with. Since you are using SQL Server database with Windows Authentication, you must use the same account for both DSN and vCenter Server Service"
Am I missing something?
