Upgraded a existing Virtual Server 2.5U6 to VCenter 4.0 U2
Issue is now when when click on the Storage View we get a error urn:sm1
Can any one point us in the right direction to resolving this?
Have you checked this KB?
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1018608
http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1023308
Andre
Thanks for the reply but sadly no.
Tried both. The SQL was unselected. Selected and set to 900 to check, restarted the services.
Tried the other KB and downloaded the file then stopped the service. Made a back up and replaced the file. Restarted and same unsupported namespace urn:sm1 in content of soap body.
When I try to restart the VC/ web service it also produces this error?
checking in the sms.log there are errors

Have you done all the update?
Which error do you have with vCenter Service??
Andre
sorry which update have I missed something?
Do I need a dot net update? Which version please?
Checking the sms.log after reading kb 238599 and removed the proxy as in plugins I had errors now I dont?
This was not update 1 it was update 2.
Still no further ahead. Can any one give us so direction on faulting finding where this soap issue is coming from please?
Looking at vws.log I see the following
ERROR 'com.vmware.vim.health.impl.XmlUtil'] Error retrieving health from url: http://localhost:80/sms/smService-web/health.xml
I can see this url in the browser its a 404 error so seems the service is not running?

Found a thread reporting
OK, for the com.vmware.vcIntegrity error try this:
Navigate to your vCenter Extensions folder (default: C:\Program Files\VMware\Infrastructure\VirtualCenter Server\extensions).
In each extension folder there is a 'extension.xml, open this in a text editor
Some of these have a URL to the tomcat service such as '<url>[https://vc-01:8443/cim-ui/scriptConfig.xml]</url>'
Make sure the URL is valid an accessible by the vSphere clients
+In my case some of the extension URLs were not valid (local addresses)
and I changed them to the actual vCenter server host name. Then the
clients were able to properly connect to the service.+
checking http://localhost/sms/smService-web/health.xml is a 404 but
https://localhost:8443/sms/smService-web/health.xml is fine so I changed the extension.xml to this restart the VC server and Web service but still not go....

Did you get resolution on this one? I have had this issue for a bit here, can't find a solution.
Hello
NO sorry no answer. My issue was another application listening on 80 so I changed to 85 during the install. I am guessing it is not supported as it doesnt work.
Change the config file from 85 to 8080 and its starts to work perf tabs but still no go on the storage tab.
Glad to see I am not the only end user with this issue.
We are going to install VCenter on a new server and upgrade the existing ESX from 3.5 to 4.0 U2.
Guessing this will fix it.
Has any one got any addition trouble shooting steps please?
