Storage VMotion

I need to migrate about 500VM's to a new datastores My question is, one of the VM's has 3TB of storage across multiple LUN's (2 LUNs)

How do I storage migrate this one to the new datastore?

Finally any script I can use out there?

Not sure if you could script it for vm that have disks sitting on multiple datastores... but im not a guru with powercli im sure there is some cleaver people out there that could tho.

But for the particular vm your talking about go migrate -> change data store -> Then hit the advanced options button and you can move any of the disks to any data store.

This is using vsphere.

Thanks, but am still on ESX 3.5, only one VM has 3TB across multiple LUN's. The rest I can sVMotion.

If anyone has a script for sVMotion, I would be glad to try it out.

There is a third party pluggin available for the svmotion for the ESX 3.5. With this API plugin you can migrate the data from one datastore to other datastore.

MCSE,VCP 310,VCP 410.
