Snapshot causing vm to shutdown

I have a VM that will shutdown when creating a snapshot. The error on the VC is, "Creating a quiesced snapshot failed becasue the create snapshot operation exceeded the time limit for holding off I/O in the frozen virtual machine." On the ESX server the error is, "[//msg.disk.notCheckpointed3|http://msg.disk.notCheckpointed3] Failed to resume virtual disk scsi0:0: The disk has been modified since you took a snapshot or suspended the virtual machine. / ://msg.checkpoint.continuesync.fail Error encountered while restarting virtual machine after taking snapshot. The virtual machine will be powered off." The snapshot is done via a script and more than 40 other VM's do not encounter this problem during execution of the script. Doing a manual snapshot from the VC gui works ok. Has anyone encountered this problem? And is there a fix?

I am using vcbsnapshot to create the snapshots.

Thanks

Is the affected virtual machine stored in a VMFS different from others?

We have exactly the same issue, but only occurs with a single VMFS, not all of them.
