Shutting down the Storage

I have vCenter Server 4.0 and ESX 4.0 U2, 1 MD3000i storage.

Let's say I am packing everything for shipping, and I need to shutdown all the hardware.

Is there a rule in shutting down the storage (MD3000i)?

The only rule I can think of: Shut down all systems accessing the storage and then shut down the storage.

As most of the enterprise storage, also the MD3000i do not have a shutdown command.

You have to ensure that I/O has stopped (just shutdown the servers) and only after that you can power-down the storage.
