Scheduled Task: Revert to Snapshot

Hi everybody

Is it possible to create a scheduled thask which makes a 'revert to snapshot'. For us, this would be quite interesting for 'resetting' development VMs every night for example.

I browsed through the possible tasks, but did not find an option like that.

I haven't heard of revert to snapshot task, but maybe you should check in the VCB groups for VCB script that might help you.

In development environments that I have created, I have used Netapp with FlexClone abilities, that allowed me to create the base environment and then take Netapp snapshots on this Vol and create new volumes which were the exact copy of the baseline Vol.

When I wanted to revert to more clean environment, I have reverted to the Netapp snapshot.

In that way you can remove the snapshot burden from your ESX servers.
