We have 2 vsphere 4.1 clusters in separate buildings. As a poor man's vm backup, I just scheduled a monthly clone job for a VM in cluster 1 that will place the clone in a datastore on cluster 2, so I'm looking out for gotchas.
The VM has an 8 GB disk and has iscsi connections to a couple of TB of data, so I got the expected warning about the cloned vm on cluster 2 not being able to access the storage on cluster 1. No problem there because I would move the cloned vm back to cluster 1 before trying to use it. I also realize that the second time the task runs, the job will fail if the clone with the same name already exists. I can rename the cloned VM and folder on the DS, so that should be ok.
Any other things I need to watch out for?

VMWare Environment: vSphere 7.0, EQ PS6210 SANs, Dell R730 Hosts, dedicated Dell switches w/ separate vlans for vmotion and iscsi.
