SQL upgrade post Vcenter 5.0 installation

We are looking to perform a new installation of Vcenter Server 5.0.  Right now we have only 3 hosts and a few VM's so we are going to install the SQL 2008 Express to get us up and running.  Our question is wether or not it is possible to upgrade SQL after the installation.  We are looking at a few options as far as SQL goes, but we will probably be installing an instance on seperate hardware and pointing the Vcenter to it.  We just want to make sure this is possible.

Yes, you can detatch the database and then move it elsewhere, or take a backup copy of the database and restore it elsewhere. Then, point the ODBC connection on vCenter to the new home of the database.

Cheers.
