SQL Server Permissions for vCenter

Hi,

I am planning on installing vCenter using a SQL Server 2008 Database (Dedicated database server). I plan to use Windows Authentication. I have created an AD account named vcenterdb and had my DBA's assign the db_owner and MSDB permissions to it. From what I gather this is required for installation only. My question is, once I get vcenter installed, what permissions does this vcenterdb account need to have on the sql server database?

thanks,

Mike

yes, you can remove the MSDB dbo owner permissions.... This is only needed to create the rollup jobs.  However, you still need dbo on the VCDB

Troy,

Thanks for that. Once the install is complete, can i remove the msdb and db_owner permissions and just leave dbo permissions ??

Thanks,

Mike
