SQL Express for vCenter Database

Hi, I plan to implement a small envirnment of 12 Ent Plus ESXi 5 hosts, and would like to ask whether there are any limitations of hosting the vCenter database on SQL Express on the vCenter server. Additional, to also host the Update Manager and SRM databases.

Hi,

To use SQL Express have one limitation (Maximum size database 4GB):

Notes:

• Microsoft SQL Server 2008 R2 Express is intended for use with small deployments of up to 5 hosts and/or 50 virtual machines.

If you shoud use VUM and SRM, think use other SQL. is better.
