I would like to pose a question to the group around monitoring your datastores uptime. We would like to be alerted if a volume were to go unavailable to any of the hosts in our environment. I located a table showing all available vSphere API events that can be used to trigger alarms. Can anyone give me a good plan on how to use these in order to receive the best alerting if we were to lose a volume or volumes? This would really be a single-state alert, since the volume is either available or is not. How did you configure your alarm definition to satisfy the triggers/actions? Thank you in advance!
