Hi All
Does anyone know or has seen the SAN Fabric Views tab in VSphere client, i noticed this after our recent upgrade from 3.5 to 4.0, but it doesnt show any info just the table headers, looks like it could provide some interesting stats if we could get it working/know what it is.
Ive done a google and come up with nothing at all which is strange.
See the attached screengrab for reference.
Could you please share more details on the version of VIC,vCenter/ESX you are having ? This vew is not the default one in vSphere Client ...But its available after installation of some add ons to the vCenter and VIC. Cant just recall ...i have come across this some time in past.
It's the Vsphere plugin from the Brocade DCFM (Data Center Fabric Manager)
Your San administrator configured it in some way.

Ahh ok thanks Peter.
Do you have any more information about this?
This is right though because we recently upgraded from EFCM to DCFM.
Besides the dcfm manual and a small presentation on http://www.brocade.com/downloads/documents/new_vmware_solution/Brocade_VMwareESX4_Overview_GA-TB-208...
I cannot find much info as well.
I'm still having the same problem as you have; I do not see any info...
Still trying and if I have any success I'll update.
Peter
Hi,
I had to change the alias name of one esx server to his fqdn name, like it is named in vsphere.
After that virtual machines came up in the tab.
So far I did not see traffic per virtual machine, but only on hba level.
Strange is also that I do not see this info in DCFM.
And it is not compatible with Vsphere 4.1. Trying to add a Vsphere 4.1 simply says it is not supported and thus not possible.
Peter
where abouts do you change the alias peter?
How can i get that up int he Vi client. seems interesting..
