Resource Pool settings

Is there any option to have Resource pool to be limited by Processor Cores instead on GHz

Hi Durai,

there is no option to limit the cpu other than the GHZ. we can limit only in hardware tab.

vcenter or vsphere don´t have this option. This not is limitation because you are using resource pool. In general all limitations works based on  MHz .

may you can set limitation based on mhz.

i.e if your host have 8cpu of 2.9GHz = total 23200MHz, if you can limit to use 50% how limit or 4cpu, configure limitation to use 11600MHz.

You can see total of each host in summary tab.

this is a closer option

First of all why you want such option where you want one resource pool to be limited by cores.You can limit the resource pool at higher granularity that is you can set the resource pool with limited Mhz capacity which almost provides the same which you might be looking for.This way of assigning resources seems more accurate and transparent.

You have a processor core limit for each VM... that is the numer of vCPU and/or vcores that you give to a VM.
