Resource Pool % reporting

Hi,

We have 3 "root" resource pools: email, storage and misc. Each of those 3 pools is funded by a different budget, so management would like a report that breaks down which pool is using how much resources.

Ideally we'd like to show a simple pie chart, with the % used by each of the 3 resource pools. We'd have a separate pie chart for CPU, Memory, Network and Disk. If we could also do a stacked area chart that displays usage over time, that would be great too.

It doesn't look like that is possible with the built-in reporting tools. Is there a way to get that info automatically?

Thanks!

You can try to use VMware Performance tab on each resource pool, export the data and then build your graph with other program.

Or try to monitor this data with SNMP and use some reporting program.

you can use the open source software zenoss.

There are also commercial monitoring applications to monitor ESX environment.

I prefer to go for opensource.
