Renew the certificates for our vCenter server using the SSL Certificate automation tool

Hi,

I was planning to renew the certificates for our vCenter server using the SSL Certificate automation tool version 5.5 (vCenter 5.5).

I am looking for the answers below.

  • Enter vCenter Server administrator user name:
  • Enter vCenter Server administrator password (will not be echoed):
  • Enter the vCenter Server original database password (will not be echoed):

Questions:

Is the 'vCenter Server administrator' user the Windows Administrator user or the administrator user inside the vCenter service?

Where can i find te 'vCenter Server original database password'?

Perhaps noob questions for some people here but i am already grateful for response.

Hi,

Is the 'vCenter Server administrator' user the Windows Administrator user or the administrator user inside the vCenter service?

administrator@vsphere.local (local administrator vCenter)

Where can i find te 'vCenter Server original database password'?

the password legibly, you can't find it anywhere.

Thanks for your reply.

On the vCenter server the LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/VMware, Inc./VMware VirtualCenter/DB/2 key has the value 'vpxuser'. Does this mean I have to search for this user's password?
